What a wonderful way to introduce my daughter (2 years old at the time of purchase) to painting! Obviously, this isn't the same as choosing a color on the palette, but for a very young toddler who is just working on the ergonomics of holding a brush and dipping into water without spilling, this was exactly what we were hoping to find. That's not to say that there won't be any mess; the colors bleed together, the water gets dripped, and hands and fingers get a little messy. Everything washes up well (both clothing and skin), and the mess is part of the fun. Another parent recommended that we try the "Water Wow" pens on this type of painting page, but we haven't tried that yet.Product details

Sesame Street Paint with Water Activity Book Elmo Imagines Kappa Books Publishers 9781559930840 Books Reviews
It's a good price and probably okay for an older toddler. I got this for my young toddler and he put his hands on the "paint area" which stained his hand and foot. Two baths later and it's still noticeable but fading.
This is super neat. Just like the paint with water books I remember as a kid. My daughter is entertained and amused. I like the colors a lot and of course Elmo is a huge hit in our home. It's big area is easy to color in for little hands with supervision of course.
This book is made of a thin paper as most of these types are. I would use only a small amount of water and encourage your little one to wear an art smock. There have been no issues with stains in my case but my girl is 10.
Overall. Just like I remember as a kid. Great way to spark imagination and an early love of art.
Paint with water books are going the way of the dinosaur, so I was very pleased to find this book. I bought one for each granddaughter because sometimes when you paint, you want it to look like something when you are finished. My 2 and 5-year old granddaughters burned through these books in a couple of days. They only lasted that long because I paced them. Also, the pages are perforated, so that when the drown the picture they are working on, the rest of the book survives.
I gave this three stars because there was not a lot of paint in the product. My daughter would put the water on there and would really have to work hard to get the paint to spread. She had more fun with other books that took little effort to spread the paint around. I rather it bleed into other sections then just look like dots on the page like it did before you add water. The pictures are cute and the price was cheap. I say if you want a different activity you can go for this one, but you might find it is hard to spread the paint around. My daughter is three that was trying to do this. She wanted my help and with other paint with water books she didn't need my help at all.
This is a gift for my daughter so she hasn't seen it yet. It's a watercolor book like I remember from my childhood. The paper is thick and the colors are bright and vibrant. I love it. I'm very happy with this purchase and I think it will go over well. I haven't painted on it, so I'm not sure how well the dots blend. If it's not as I expect it will be, then I'll update my review. But at the moment, I couldn't be happier.
This was our first water painting book so I really did not know what to expect. My 2 1/2 year-old didn't care for it because there really was no color applied to the page. I am not sure if she oversaturated it but there would be color for a second and then he would almost evaporate and she lost interest in this very quickly. I would not be purchased from this brand and I would not recommend this product.
My toddler has been obsessed with painting so we figured this was a simpler no-mess alternative to breaking out the acrylic paints. The paper is a little thicker than computer printer paper and there are little "dots" of watercolor paint that are printed on the paper. The point is to paint with water only to make the colors appear more. Which kind of happens. The colors in this book are much more saturated than some other brands we have purchased but if you are really looking for pops of color and impact then this is not the style of book for that. The colors are watered down very quickly and because it is not a heavy durable paper it doesn't take long for the paper to pill and disintegrate. (Side note Do remove each page before painting! Otherwise the page will saturate others behind it) My daughter uses a larger paintbrush because she is only 2.5 and she can finish a page in just a minute or two. It doesn't take long to go through all of the pages in the book. Some of the pages are much more detailed than I expected for a toddler book so that was interesting to our daughter that she had a whole scene to paint instead of just a character on a page. Overall worth it for a quick project!
